POLL SHOWS BUCSHON WITH COMMANDING LEAD

(Evansville, IN) – An internal poll, conducted by Public Opinion Strategies, shows Dr. Larry Bucshon with a commanding lead over his opponent Dave Crooks. The poll shows Dr. Bucshon leading Mr. Crooks 52 percent to 36 percent.

Campaign Spokesman Nick McGee released the following statement:

“The results are an indication that Dr. Bucshon's campaign for reelection continues to gain momentum heading into the final stretch. Voters in the 8th District approve of Dr. Bucshon's common sense solutions that will bring more jobs to Indiana, address the skyrocketing cost of healthcare, and protect and strengthen Medicare. Dr. Bucshon is offering a positive plan and has worked hard in Congress to represent the constituents of the 8th District and will continue to do so if reelected.”

SUBJECT: POLLING RESULTS – INDIANA’S 8TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
DATE: OCTOBER 26, 2012

As you know, Public Opinion Strategies recently completed a poll of 300 likely voters in Indiana’s 8th Congressional District.  The survey was conducted on October 24-25, 2012 and has a margin of error of plus/minus 5.66%.  The purpose of this memo is to review the key findings of the poll.

KEY FINDINGS:

1. Larry Bucshon has a solid lead on the ballot.  Congressman Bucshon is leading Democratic candidate David Crooks, 52%-36%, which includes voters who “lean” toward a candidate.  Bucshon’s lead comes after more than $300,000 in false attacks from Crooks’ Washington DC allies.

2. Romney also has a strong advantage.  In the Presidential race, Governor Romney is currently beating Obama, 57%-39%.  Among Congressional undecided voters, Romney holds a better than two-to-one lead, 57%-25%.

The Bottom Line

Don’t believe the spin that the 8th Congressional District is a potential “November surprise;” Congressman Bucshon is in a solid position for re-election.
