Congressman Larry Bucshon made a stop in Knox County on Tuesday, where he was thanked for his support of local farmers.

The Indiana Farm Bureau presented Bucshon with a "Friend of the Farm Bureau" award.

According to members, the Congressman has had a 100 percent voting record for the top issues facing farmers and agribusiness.

Bucshon says what's important to the constituents is important to him, especially after this year's drought.

"Advise me on agricultural issues so that myself and my staff know exactly what's happening in the district and what issues are important," said Rep. Bucshon. "As a representative I want to put their issues on the front burner and make sure that I'm representing them in a way that helps them and helps the agricultural community thrive here in Indiana."

Don Villwock, President of the Indiana Farm Bureau, adds: "And he quite often calls. And before an important vote and wants to make sure he has all the bases covered, he's thinking the right way and so Indiana Farm Bureau is extremely proud of having that kind of working relationship with a great Congressman."

Bucshon says passing the farm bill is a top priority.

He faces off against Democrat Dave Crooks in the November election.
