Economic Recovery
Over the last three years, President Obama’s over-priced, ineffective plan has failed to deliver anything but steadily high unemployment and increased our national debt by trillions of dollars. Now, President Obama and his liberal allies in Congress want to place an additional tax burden on America’s job creators. We can’t stand by and watch it happen, we must fight.
I’m a former small business owner who has directly experienced the negative effects of government over-regulation and taxation. As your representative, I have pursued responsible solutions which focus on reducing the tax burden for businesses and encourage investment.
Going forward, I will continue working to spur economic recovery by advocating for many common sense solutions, including:
- Oppose any tax increase on small businesses.
- Completion of construction of the I-69 corridor in the 8th district, which will bring needed economic activity to Southwestern Indiana.
- Implement a new above-the-line tax deduction for Americans who do not receive tax-preferred employer sponsored health insurance.
- Opposition of the Value Added Tax (VAT) - a national sales tax that is being promoted by the Obama administration and his liberal allies in Congress.
